AT BARE ACRE Farm we grow flowers and salad vegetables without the use of harmful chemicals
At Bare Acre Farm, we grow fresh, seasonal salad vegetables taking care to place our small farm’s flora and fauna at the heart of everything we do. Our own produce is grown using organic principles—without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers—focusing on soil health, biodiversity, and natural pest management. We work with nature, using compost, crop rotation, and diverse planting to produce high-quality vegetables while protecting the environment. We are not registered organic nor do we intend to become so. Rather that applying a label, we prefer to let our produce speak for itself
What We Grow
We grow a wide range of salad vegetables throughout the year, ensuring the freshest seasonal produce is always available from the beginning of our season in February to the close of our Season on Christmas eve. Our polytunnels extend our growing season, allowing us to offer homegrown produce even when the Irish weather isn’t cooperating!
Produce Boxes
As of 2025 we have decided to hit back against the Supermarket corporate strategy of below cost selling which is hurting small and large growers alike and threatening our food security. We will no longer compete with €0.29 carrots or €0.19 lettuce. Instead we will be selling all of our vegetables as part of our produce boxes. Our produce boxes contain a selection of seasonal veg from our own farm as well as from our trusted suppliers. This ensures our customers recieve great value for money, no needless once use plastic wrapping and the freshest possible vegetables. Customers can also add farm fresh free range eggs plus homemade brown bread, jams and preserves to their orders..
Our Trusted Suppliers
While we grow much of our produce ourselves, we also partner with a select group of trusted local farmers to offer a wider variety of seasonal vegetables year-round. These suppliers share our commitment to ethical and sustainable growing practices. We carefully choose growers who prioritise soil health, biodiversity, and responsible farming to ensure the best quality produce for our customers.
At Bare Acre Farm, every vegetable we sell is chosen with care, supporting sustainable local agriculture and producers. Whether grown on our farm or sourced from our trusted suppliers, you can be sure you’re getting the best of Irish seasonal produce.
As Seen on RTÉ’s Ear To The Ground
In October, we had the incredible opportunity to showcase Bare Acre Farm on RTÉ’s Ear To The Ground. The feature highlighted not only the heart and soul of our farm but also the unique perspective and passion that drives us. Farmer Dave shared his personal ADHD journey, offering insight into how he embraces it as his superpower—fueling his creativity, problem-solving, and unstoppable energy.
We were delighted to shine a light on the positives of ADHD and how it shapes our work at the farm, from growing organic produce and flowers to building strong community connections. A huge thank you to everyone who tuned in to learn more about our story! If you missed it, be sure to check it out and discover how ADHD helps make Bare Acre Farm truly unique.
