We grow our vegetables in Fingal, sell them through our farm shop in Fingal & deliver our vegetable boxes to local families in Fingal.
Bare Acre Farm started as a conceptual retirement project for Ber & Dave Kavanagh in 2020. Since then it has grown into much more then that and now situates itself at the heart of a community, who like Dave & Ber believe that the origin of our food should be in our control, not in the hands of for profit corporations. Food should nourish both body and mind and that above all, it should not be toxic.
At Bare Acre Farm, everything starts with a simple belief: good food and fabulous flowers should be local, fresh, and grown with care.
Dave & Ber, set up Bare Acre to answer a growing desire for food that truly connects people to the land it comes from. Nestled on the edge of the lovely village of Loughshinny, our small but busy farm is dedicated to producing seasonal vegetables, vibrant cut flowers, and homemade bakes and preserves—all rooted in our values of sustainability, community, and honesty.
Our vegetable boxes bring the farm straight to your table, packed only with Irish-grown, seasonal produce—never imported, never rushed. Each box reflects the rhythms of the seasons, ensuring you taste vegetables at their very best. Alongside the veg, you’ll also find our cut flowers, grown without chemicals and chosen for their natural beauty and vase life—arranged beautifully by Lynette & perfect for brightening homes, weddings, or special occasions.
Food is at the heart of what we do. Our farm shop is stocked with everything we produce ourselves, and you will not find our products anywhere else. At weekends, our food van serves up hearty, locally sourced brunches, while Ber keeps the shelves filled with her much-loved scones, cakes, bread, and jams, all made in small batches right here on the farm.
We don’t believe in shortcuts or compromises. We believe in the satisfaction of growing food the right way: organic, sustainable, and local. We believe in supporting our community by keeping jobs and produce close to home. And most of all, we believe that food and flowers should be a joy—full of flavour, colour, and care.
That’s the ethos of Bare Acre Farm: real food, real flowers, and real people behind it all.
