Classic BLT with Bare Acre Aromatic Salad and Beefsteak Tomatoes

Probably the best sandwich you will ever eat

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of thick, good quality bacon
  • 4 slices of your favourite bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
  • 2 Bare Acre Beefsteak Tomatoes, sliced
  • A handful of Bare Acre Aromatic Salad (Mixed Lettuce)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Bacon: You want it crispy but not burnt.

    • Fry the Bacon on a hot pan
    • Or Fry in and Air Fryer (200C for 9 Minutes)
    • Once done, place the bacon on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
  2. Prepare the Bread:

    • While the bacon is cooking, lightly toast the bread slices in a toaster or under a grill until golden brown.
  3. Slice the Tomatoes:

    • Wash the Bare Acre Beefsteak Tomatoes thoroughly.
    • Cut the tomatoes into thick slices, ensuring you have enough for each sandwich.
  4. Assemble the Sandwich:

    • Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each toasted bread slice.
    • Place a few slices of the Bare Acre Beefsteak Tomatoes on two of the bread slices.
    • Season the tomato slices with a pinch of salt and pepper.
    • Layer the crispy bacon slices on top of the tomatoes.
    • Add a generous handful of the Bare Acre Aromatic Salad on top of the bacon.
    • Top each sandwich with the remaining bread slices, mayonnaise side down.
  5. Serve:

    • Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally for easy handling.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy your classic BLT with fresh, local ingredients from The Farm Shop.

Tips:

  • For an extra kick, add a dash of hot sauce to the mayonnaise.
  • Consider adding avocado slices or a slice of your favourite cheese for a variation on the classic BLT.
